The City of Jacksonville |
|
The
Sandrima Crew would like to thank the Film Commissioner Todd
Roobin of
the City of Jacksonville
for his tremendous help in finding locations and working
closely with us to insure the process of permits and filming
went smoothly.
Jacksonville is full of
beautiful locations for any film project and we were blessed
that the city opened itself up to us to allow access to some
amazing locations such as Cecil Field where a large portion
of the project was filmed. |

The City of Cedar Grove |
|
We were in
a serious bind when our custom-built landspeeder was (sad to
say) poorly built and way too heavy to roll back up into the
studio. With only weeks away from shooting scenes with the
vehicle in it, panic began to swell in our hearts. And
that's when one of our grips alerted us to
this article about a small town Police Chief trying to do
good in his community by auctioning off a thirty-year old
time piece, specifically a full sized, working landspeeder
built by the Coca Cola company.
We
called Chief Turcotte and met with him shortly after. When
we showed him behind the scenes of our project he
immediately endorsed us and pulled all of the strings
necessary to get us the speeder. A few weeks later and with
the unwavering support of Cedar Grove, we were right back on
track!
Today the
Landspeeder is fully-furnished and street legal. Chief
Turcotte hopes to sell it to a generous collector to upgrade
the computer equipment in his town's police department. If
you'd like to make him an offer, feel free to contact him.

Epping Forest |
|
When we
approached the
Epping Forest yacht club to film the Dunther Estate,
we're pretty sure they had no idea what they were getting
into. Where other film companies had large operating
budgets, we had next
to nothing and the good people at Epping Forest were
tremendously gracious to open their doors to us anyway. The
staff of the estate went out of their way to
ensure our filming went
smooth, despite us being in the way of their daily routines.

Epping
Forest is a beautiful community and we are eternally
greatful for their help and kindness throughout our
experience with them.

The Casbah Cafe |
|
When
we approached the Riverside restaurant as a possible
location for filming the tavern sequence, the folks at
the Casbah Cafe not only agreed without hesitation, they
provided the most delicious buffet of the middle east for
our entire cast and crew. And when trouble hit and we needed
a few hours, with a quick phone call, the owners allowed us
all the time we needed to wrap up. Today they're our biggest
fans and the hippest spot to spend a night out, this side of
the Mississippi!
Tell them
the Sandrima Crew sent you.

Make Believe Costume and Dancewear |
|
Julie was one
of the first sponsors to hop on board Sandrima, providing
access to her entire warehouse of costumes. When we provided
a list of specifics that we were looking for in our extras
wardrobe, she had her crack team of elite costume warehouse
shoppers sift through endless lines of tunics and cloaks
to clad our many spacefarers.
Many of the
holsters, boots and our villain's entire outfit were
provided entirely by
Make Believe. If you're in need of a costume in
Jacksonville Florida, chances are they've got it.

First Coast Jedi Knights |
|
We
needed custom tailored Jedi tunics for the driving force of
Sandrima's tale, and who knows Star Wars better than the
legions of fans that meet regularly to dress the parts? In
our eleventh hour, one of our primary tailors fell through
and the amazing group of Star Wars fans came to bat.
The First Coast Jedi Knights worked tirelessly through
the knight to build from nothing, all of our required Jedi
robes. A record-breaking feat!
Like a lot of fan groups,
FCJK participates in charity work around the community,
raising funds for childrens' hospitals and engage in local
events such as the Jacksonville Zoo and the Florida Theater.
If your next party calls for the walking legends of Star
Wars, give them a call! |

Army, Navy Outdoors |
|
Given our
limited resources to work with, we couldn't manufacture
everything. That's where
Army, Navy Outdoors gave us much needed assistance with
killer prices and great service. Their support made
it
relatively painless to battle dress a large chunk of our Cul
Enterprises Security personnel.
Today, we
can't walk into the store without them asking about the
progress of our project and that speaks volumes of their
support. It's that kind of community endorsement that keeps
us going back. Army, Navy Outdoors has made us a permanent
customer and we're sure they'll make you one too. |
